Right - The Mrs is out tonight, so I'm determined to gorge myself on the biggest meat and fat laden Curry I can find, But which type? (PS I'm medically underweight so she won't mind, as long as I'm not scoffing in front of her)
.I was going to run this as a poll, but realised there are just too many options. Firstly - should I make it myself or order in? My local delivery isn't that great to be honest - and I think if you buy a jar of sauce, and perk it up with a few onions, some extra veg and a few extra spices, and it's pretty reasonable. Second - and more importantly - which type of curry? I'm not the worlds greatest chilli Meister - so medium hot to mild is best. Something that will wash well with a glass of Duchars IPA. ![]() Help me - my evening's loafing depends on you. Thanks - Andrew. ![]() They told me I was gullible ... and I believed them. |

If you get a jar then you can't go wrong with pataks jars......pan fry your chicken then chuck the sauce on the top yummmm balti or rogan josh
You have to get poppadums ( you can buy these and cook 'em yourself, takes about 2 seconds in the deep fat fryer ) and mango chutney..... and naan bread..... Corrrrr i really fancy a curry for tea now

Me too.... I can't make one though. I struggle with cereal.
Make sure you get some decent fluffy rice! That can make the curry so much better.

Cheers... now I want a kebab and curry for my tea
![]() Balti, rogan josh and biriyani are all fairly medium heat and quite tasty. Personally my favourite is Jalfrezi

I am very lucky, my wife being of bengali origin, I get good Calcutta food at home. Mind you I also cook a mean dahl or singhara. Mmm. Meatball curry! Ps you can microwave most packet poppadums, they come out well.

Lamb Dhansak (spelling?) in the end - not the best I've ever had, but very tasty all the same.
I went with a jar of sauce, sharwoods I think, and tarted it up with an oinion and some garlic. My local Sainsbury's is a bit poxy though so the range was a bit limited. Ta for suggestions guys.

Really good one for future is one of the bundh sauces(that you start in a pan and finish in the oven for an hour). Gorgeous sauces and if you are lazy/can't cook the most supermarkets now do cheap side dishes like onion baji/bombay potatoes etc. Washed down with a good bottle of cobra.
I do know everything, just not all at once. It's a virtual memory problem.
