14 posts before someone mentioned pesto!?!

tesco value noodles. The falvour you get is awful, its more colour, but 8pence. 8pence for some noooooodles. You can add frozen pees too. These can make quite good stirfry bases. for 8p a whack. Biol em for about 1min, then add to the wok. I like bits of chicken in a soy source, you can make £1 worth of chicken breast last a good 4 meals like that. So highly recomended.

Toast. It took 14 posts to get pesto a mention, how come its taken so long for toast. Clover is by far and a way the best butter substitute. Chicken boveral is the best toast topping in the world (with some butter/marge underneeth). Again, uber cheap.

Fresh Pasta, is by far and a away the best pasta, 80pence will get you a 500grams, so its a lot more expensive, but cooks in 3 minuites, has better taste and texture..... its just better. Pasta salards are good (think sasuage).

Cheese. As mature as you can afford.

whatever you do dont by tesco value pizzas, they may be 49p but i got salmonella form one and was really sick for about a week. my fav cheapo meals are

tuna melt - toast + tunamayo and grated cheese under grill
jacket potatos - scoop out potato, mash with ingredient ie cheese/tuna/ham/spinach, put back in skin add grated cheese and return to oven/grill for 5 mins
    beans on toast = 16p a meal
buy a blender and make your own soups - very cheap

Morrison's filled pasta is £2.50 for 2 packs, you'll get 2 meals out of each pack and it's bloody nice. Add some frozen peas after cooking for 1 minute, drain after 3 mins, toss with butter or olive oil and sprinkle with lots of grated parmesan.

Yeah, I'll second that, lovely with a bit of green pesto. Alternatively just as good the next day cold with a bit of salad & grilled chicken breast.

Asda smart price ready meals. 99p for a measly small portion that you chuck in the microwave and eat.
    Lazy and cheap.
    Not good...but still...

Learn the routine of the discounts at your local supermarket. They generally rotate the offers, so if you find something you like, wait until it's on offer again then stock up!

    BEST thing ever

I tend to buy most of the BOGOF offers they have at Tesco, then nip to ASDA to see what they have to compliment the BOGOF I get from Tesco
