    Breakfast mushrooms

I've been trying to think how your typical breakfast mushrooms are cooked, y'know, the ones you get as a breakfast meal, whole cooked. Are they fried? If so, how are they best done? I'm trying to figure out what the best way to cook them is so they're uber tasty. How long do they take? Reason being is because I want to do egg, beans, mushrooms etc.

    Any ideas?

I tend to grill them with some olive oil.

    Agreed with above.

Another nice way is sauteed in some decent butter with lemon and cracked black pepper

    It depends....

If using HUGE full mushrooms which I intend to fill with various goodies then I grill them, If I chop them, I then throw them in the frying pan on a medium/high heat without oil as the moisture in the mushrooms tends to stop them sticking.

Well, I'm not very good at cooking, so just do what I do with most things when making a good fryup, shove 'em in the pan with some butter and all the other stuff

I think they must be grilled then, I can't see them being fried from the ones I have. I'll have to have a play and see. How long do they take by the way?

Well actually it does, yes. Some nice pork and bramley apple bangers and mapple bacon too. Sure it's not your normal cheap britsh greasy spoon, but it's very nice. Sometimes it worth making an effort, esspecially if there is a lady involved

In fact i had a stilton and bacon sandwich today. Mmmm... bacon....

This way with a few bits of crushed garlic is fantastic. Makes them nice and soft also with garlic taste.

Foreman Grilling is good aswell. Soooooo good, I put my name on it.

    Breakfast mushrooms
Leave them largish and put in a small pan with a large dod o'butter, put heat on fairly low and leave them alone apart from a couple of shoogles. Five minutes or so (while your doing the eggs usually does it) and your sorted.
