Im still having problems with my internet, Virgin Media is the biggest load of crap ever. Im sick of them, and as if this couldnt be any worse... they are introducing a "pay customer service line" for the broadband helpline, now at 25p/min with a 10p connection charge. Its a disgrace,
Its gonna cost me now to complain to them about there internet service. Boo to you Mr Branson. What the hell are you doing! |

the only reason some one would need to flash there modem is to fix bugs in witch case give ntl a ring
or to do something that violates the ntl terms of service in witch case go away |

Can someone with a Motorola Surfboard modem on Virgin Media do me a simple check and post back?
Can you go to the config settings on the modem 192.168.100.1 and tell me all of your upstream and downstream settings and figures? I need to check mine to make sure its similar ![]() Cheers |

LOL
Im ringing them tonight, see if I can get the whole thing cancelled. Im sick of them, the service is terrible. Nine times out of ten I cant watch any of the movie channels as they have this stupid red button you have to press first..... which funnily enough never works. Internet is a complete disgrace, and the customer services is attrocious. I wonder whether this is what Richard Branson has just realised? |

the red button thing is a pain. To get around it, if you have a TVDrive (V+ box) just set it to record, go into recordings and enter your password there. You can also pause the movie this way.

got my phone & tv bill and separate broadband via email bill last week. Turns out I haven't been given any compsensation discount after all. Total lies! As was them promising to call me back to find out why someone had agreed on a discount and not actually done it.
In fact I now realise that they've started charging for call waiting and itemised billing - a work colleague has noticed the same thing. |

Im fed up with them, but its making the right choice. Maybe they are the best of a bad bunch, ive heard similar stories about Sky too... and I dont think BT are established enough yet.
There is just no need for such poor customer services

Yes I hate them for not giving 20mb internet in my house. They dont even have a digital cable network round here.

I've got mixed feelings about them tbh.
On the negative side : I'm a bit miffed about the loss of sky one (etc and associated channels) and the V+ box I have, in terms of functionality and UI, is nowhere near the quality of my Tivo. However it's my Tivo that's been "retired" because of the upscaling qualities of the V+ box; it looks really good on my cheapo digimate (330 quid) panel. Today's news of setanta sport added at no cost to the XL package is definitely a HUGE BONUS - but I just wish they could sort out the firmware/software on the V+ box to make it more user friendly (activating that network port on the back would be cool too!!) Re: Does anyone hate Virgin Media?
Eh, I used to have Blueyonder/Telewest because I moved into a flat that was already connected and took over the TV subscription. My first warning should have been when I had broadband added to the package.
1 visit - shower of blokes go "can't install the cable, it needs to go over the roof of the flat, need roof crew for that. 2nd visit - shower of blokes go "why didn't they just run it round the side of the building? No need to put it over the roof. Never mind, we'll do it anyhow but we don't have a drill beefy enough to put a hole in that wall. Need the hole bloke for that. 3rd visit - helpful scottish bloke puts hole in wall, pulls cable through, wires everything up. "It'll be working within a few hours". As if 4th visit - "you weren't there, engineer says" But I was 5th visit - "weird this, can't figure out what the problem is. I'll go and have a look in the green cabinet" poddles off, poddles back 5 min later "ah yeah, there are these filters we put on non-broadband cables to prevent the broadband interfering with the TV. They'd left it on your broadband line. They should have taken that out on the first visit". That was a sign of things to come. Broadband was usually OK but the TV (esp On Demand) was pash. I used to console myself with the thought that NTL were worse. Sounds like now VM are the worst of both worlds. Very glad I long since jumped ship to Plusnet and then Be There Internet. |

Re: Does anyone hate Virgin Media?
Never ever use Virgin Media! You will be locked into services and be completely unable to get out of them. I subscribed to a broadband package and after many many months after cancellation they are still sucking my bank account dry. It is impossible to speak to anyone on their telephone system, just endless menus...press one for...press two for....all our operators are busy.....nightmare.
I spent over eight frustrating hours, 29 telephone numbers and no success. When you are connected and waiting you are bombarded with taped messages about how wonderfull virgin are and how they are voted number one. They are terrible! Their customer service is absolutely shocking. Please please please never use Virgin for any of your services, you will regret it. |
