Re: Does anyone hate Virgin Media?
ive not noticed any real differences since telewest became virgin, and it could be a whole lot worse, one of my friends is on orange broadband, and has been without connectivity for nearly 2 months while orange scratch their heads on how to fix a problem they denied existed for several weeks, lol

Re: Does anyone hate Virgin Media?
Guys and Girls, i formerly worked for VirginMedia/telewest, and i couldnt agree more!
at the end of the day we are NTL : Telewest, same setup different colour and logo. (look at the business side of virgin media is still under the ntl telewest branding)? Branson is a major shareholder however has no input into the way the company is run, as previously advised when we bought virgin mobile we bought into the rights of the virgin brand and hence the company rebranded to virgin media! everyone thinks since this the company has gone down hill, regardless of what people say its exactly the same just not what youd expect from a virgin brand! if theres any more questions or you need some help or info then just ask! as forther broadband if your happy paying £37 for 20 meg connection thats traffic managed during peak times then well done but be unlimited offer 24meg for £24 with a 1:1 contention rate and upload rates that make our broadband childsplay! Re: Does anyone hate Virgin Media?
With respect, virgin1, my experience is that it's NOT just the same. The digital TV service has gone way downhill - and I'm not talking about losing Sky 1, I'm talking about basic reliability. Our STB requires a restart at least once a day, and takes a lot longer to acquire channels than it used to. We got upped to 10Mbit recently on the broadband front - whoopee! Except that most evenings it's like wading through molasses. It's not that it's not what I'd expect from a Virgin brand, rather the opposite, it's not what I'd got used to from Telewest/Blueyonder; it's worse, a lot worse.

You just stick to your sh*tty ADSL mate, and if you have a problem with virgin media, come see me ! |

Re: Does anyone hate Virgin Media?
To be honest, the CS has been getting tougher. I had to explain everything in detail to the CS guy on the other end, and he never saw the problem. I explained that traffic shaping may have been on the T&S when I signed up, but they WERENT in effect, and he was swearing blind they they had been in place since 10meg.
I explained that my connection, if utilised, led to a average connection speed of "7.5meg" (average the connection over the whole day including when they cripple it). He was just so frustrating to talk to, like a brick wall, he would keep giving me the same spiel over and over, in the end I got a extra 20 notes knocked off per month, but it does seem they are "briefed" on what to say now and how to counteract it. |

Re: Does anyone hate Virgin Media?
indeed they are, the 10meg service has never had traffic management until the introduction of 20meg - when they realised how much bandwidth was being used by long term customers who joined telewest 5 years ago and download average 40-50gig a day they needed to put an immediate stop n place to allow the customers on the slower speeds to be able to use there broadband - as u can see from other threads its not really working!
if a complaint is made in relation to canceling your account its likely 90% you will recieve an offer that will cover your service for as long as you remain a customer? no point losing a customer to skybroadband? if your a 10meg customer on the bill your a 20meg cusotmer in reality no longer offer this speed and all upgrades have been confirmed throughout the uk? Re: Does anyone hate Virgin Media?
Virgin1 - I would check your employment contract as there may be something in there that prohibits you from this sort of thing. If I were you, give it a check or ask someones advice otherwise you may end up sacked without notice or taken to court.
Just a bit of advice You can easily edit your previous posts to say non-commital stuff

Re: Does anyone hate Virgin Media?
thats there problem isnt it? I think i need to make it clear - ex - employee! lol what can they do to someone who used to work for them? who used to get free staff services - and went through the same issues and concerns as there customers!
put it this way people are unhappy calling the indian call centres etc how about if you had a staff service and you have to call an indian call centre to get things changed??? no uk based centres , cant get a friend or manager to change it? everyones in the same boat! im only here to clear things up for people i worked for the company for over 12 years!!!! united artists> telewest> ntl : telewest> Virgin guess where it started to go wrong? when we took 5.5 millin customers from one of the lowest rated companies for customer care in the uk! ntl |
