Hi,
I am looking to replace my all-in-one rubbish 5.1 system and was wondering what the best options were in terms of amps and speakers. I have so far heard good things about the Sony STRDA1200ES and the Q-Acoustics 1010 speaker package but their combined total is just a bit too much (£800). Would I regret not spending the extra cash later on or is there a combo that would give me similar performance for less. Ideally I would like 2 x optical inputs and can live without HDMI connectivity. Any help would be appreciated. |

You get what you pay for I am afraid. Have a look at the onkyo range of receivers (new 605 especially) and then see what you can find speaker wise. It may be good to look second hand.

The speakers are my biggest issue really... Most of the cheaper packages look like poo and I hate those tiny silver satellite speakers that most of these home cinema packages come with.
Thanks for the advice. |
