What about the samsung DVD HD870, it's meant to be really good and really cheap.

Re: looking for an upscaling DVD player
Samsung and Toshiba are both supposed to be leaders here, but truelly best results come from upscaling done in your PC (using software like FFDshow). This isn't possible for everyone tho, if your PC is in another room for example.
What make is your TV? |

The Samsung has all your requirements but also the Toshiba should be fine without opt though http://www.scan.co.uk/Products/Produ...oductID=579447

Re: looking for an upscaling DVD player
i have found what i think is the ultimate upscaling DVD player.
http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Produc...er/0850865.htm just bought it (but not in Argos) and so far i am very pleased with it. lots of fiddling around (especailly the picture & audio options) but if u got a "proper" 1080p TV and an HDMI cable then you don't need a Blu-ray or PS3.(well, untill the prices goes really down that is..

Re: looking for an upscaling DVD player
I know this is prob to late judging by the date but I can recommend the more expensive Denon 1930. Does all you want
http://www.superfi.co.uk/index.cfm/p...roduct_ID/2986 The quality will be above anything the cheaper dvd's will output or alternatively its little brother the 1740 (also does 1080P) http://www.superfi.co.uk/index.cfm/p...roduct_ID/3502 |
