Slingbox - Anyone know anything about them?
I am tempted to pick one up - why? Well I travel way too much and I want to enjoy my content away from home!
I want to be able to watch my Sky remotely.... ![]() So which one do I need? Or what solution do I need? I don't want to have ANOTHER computer to do it. The only other option I can see working is the Elgato EYETV for my Mac which has an EPG built in - but I am not sure it can upload the files easily (and if it could they are pretty damn big) So - SlingBox appears to be a potential way forward - any advice mucho appreciated. |

Re: Slingbox - Anyone know anything about them?
There looks to be a fairly decent comparison page on the Slingbox site
http://us.slingmedia.com/page/help-me-choose I've seen others use them, they seem to work pretty well. Just remember that when you tell it to change channel, the TV connected to the Sky box (for instance) will also change. This has caught some people out in the past ![]() EDIT: Hmmmmm. You can only get the basic Slingbox in the UK by the looks of things. http://uk.slingmedia.com/page/products.html |

They are launching the Pro and Solo in the next 2 weeks, this is one of the reasons I question

Re: Slingbox - Anyone know anything about them?
Didn't realise that
![]() I guess the comparison page on the US site would be a place to start then. I know the basics of what those things do, but not the specifics of each device. |
