VAX cleaner?
Hi All,
Not sure if this is the place to ask, but I couldn't find a more appropriate forum. We've now got a puppy and a 7 month old baby. Between the two of them, our carpet and sofa are covered in all sorts of nasty fluids. Does anyone have a Vax cleaner, or something similar? Can anyone recommend anything? Cheers.... |

Re: VAX cleaner?
I have one and it is awesome. 2-3 Complete carpet clean should clear out all the crap. The water coming out is like greyish so it is pretty efficient.
I bought it three weeks ago when Argos is doing like half price. Not sure how the AAA fluid works but it cleared up bad smell from my carpet ![]() However I have to note that the detachable handheld unit on my Vax cleaner is quite crap TBH. P.S. I live in college hall which is 3 years old and the previous occupants don't give a damn about the room, and the hall don't actually have the equipment to clean the carpet. And the vacuum cleaner (no beater bar) is utterly useless... |

Re: VAX cleaner?
I tend to nip down to tesco and hire their carpet cleaners from there instead. They are rug doctor systems if I recall correctly and it's actually not too bad a price to rent them.

Re: VAX cleaner?
i work for currys, and we had a guy from vax come in and demo the carpet washer's to all the staff, and tell us wat's wat. i cant remember most of it, which makes this pointless lol, but vax do have alot of benefits over other brands, they are generally better,a nd the leading brand wen it comes to reviews. in the carpet washer range, theres one that comes with 3 sets of extra tools. one for car valeting, one for something else, AND ONE FOR PET STUFF. so get that lol.

Re: VAX cleaner?
I'd go with the VAX - they now have 5yr guarantees too. Use about 1/2 the quantity of cleaner solution stated though, otherwise all you get is excess foam, best to rinse after a shampoo with clean water too. I found the pet 'turbo' brush is ok, but nothing special. You should be able to get one for under £100 at the moment.
Mine's fine after 5 years use, my sister's one is going stong after nearly 20yrs! Cheaper that a Dyson and should your washing machine leak you can clear that up too. Second the comment about handheld VAX though - best avoided. Rug Dr will work for you too - just depends if you want to buy or not. (You'll need 2x forms of id and a utility bill to rent at Homebase) |

Re: VAX cleaner?
its actually 6 year guarantee, six rather than five, intentionally to beat dysons.
also, its like the best guarantee ever! u ring em up, they sed u a currier to pick up ur hoover the very nxt day, and they have like a 48 or 72 hour return time, GUARANTEED! if they cant fix it in that amount of time, they just give you a new 1! its great stuff! |
