Re: IAXE usb Guitar
I was looking at getting one of these, but went for a guitar, and an Edirol UA-25 USB input, using Garageband on my iMac for recording

Re: IAXE usb Guitar
Its a nice concept, especially if you are going for a new guitar
![]() Personally I use a 1/4 to 1/8 converter jack, my PC sound card and AISO 2.0 drivers, combined with GuitarRig (has to be the most impressive effects/modulator software for guitars i've used). Works very well once you tweak the AISO drivers, I get almost no latency - its good enough that you can't hear any delay. If I had the funds tho I would grab an Ediro UA-25, they are nice bits of kit and would totally eliminate those last few seconds of latency that I have withy my setup.

Re: IAXE usb Guitar
Guitar Rig is awesome! (Although I don't use it much xD)
And as for the USB guitar thingy :/ I'll stick to my POD, and my proper axe for all that jazz xD Although granted, that is probably hundreds of pounds cheaper xD Dave |

Re: IAXE usb Guitar
I can't speak on the guitars playability having not picked one up, for £110 though its obviously not gonna pluck the stars from the sky every time you hit a chord and Behringer do have that 50/50 reputation when it comes to build quality, however I will say this much, I personally have never had a problem with any of Behringer's guitar stuff, the PA systems, amps and mixing desks I've encountered are another story entirely but as far as guitar stuff goes I've not had any of my Behringer gear die on me yet and most of its seen a fair few gigs and easily a couple of hundred practice hours.
It doesn't say if the software is a full version of Guitar Rig but if its been put together by Native Instruments I would expect it to contain a multitude of modeled amps, cabinets and effects and if Guitar Rig is anything to go by I'd expect them to sound pretty good. What interests me the most about the guitar frankly isn't the guitar at all though, I wonder how easy the electronics would be to transfer into a better guitar... |

Re: IAXE usb Guitar
interesting... does this mean that you get to record the guitar itself, not the sound it makes? i.e. you strum a sequence , then change what that sequence would sound like on the computer, like different amps, fx's , even different guitars...

Re: IAXE usb Guitar
yes, you can
I bought the cheap 393 model for 100$, the guiotar has 3 connections 1. USB 2. Headphones 3. Standard PL output The guitar itself is pretty good for a 100$ guitar, I don't know how the more expensive models are. The only problem I have with it is that in order to hear what you're playing you have to plug your headphones to the guitar. This is a software limitation of guitar rig (and other softwares, cubase, etc., have the same problem) They can only use one soundcard for both the input and output, and the iAxe is a basic soundcard that's optimized for the guitar (so the latency is very low), so the guitar has to be used for the output as well. If anyone knows a software that supports VST and multiple audio devices, that would solve this issue |
