Which soild state MP3 player?
Guys,
I'm after a new MP3 player since my Zen broke.... I want a solid state one rather than a hard drive and would ideally like 2GB+. Buget is... ~80, could maybe go upto £100. Any recomendations? Thanks!! |

Re: Which soild state MP3 player?
Loads of choice, you'll get a 2GB with loads of features or even a good 4GB one for that money. Check out
dapreview.net: News for generally good info. Looking at Scan's section for 1 - 4GB mp3 players, a few of the following stand out: 4GB Creative Zen as a divx video player too. The 4GB iPod nano's are an obvious choice, and i like them (awaiting flames.....) Cowon have been long known to have great codec/format support as well as good sound quality. This Archos 4GB is great value too. As a final thought, the SanDisk Sansa's are very highly regarded too and you can expand the memory yourself easily enough. |

System as shown, plus: Arctic Cooling Freezer 64 Pro. Griffin Powermate that pulsates blue!
Diamondback Razor. Logitech media keyboard. Netgear MP115. Seperates surround system driven by an Audigy 2. External 160GB and 500GB hard drives. 1 happy me. 1 not so happy me's wife. My Hexus Trust |

Amazon have it for £91.53 delivered with radio, £78 without, and unlike certain other players, if the battery goes tits up, you can buy a user-replaceable replacement, which even comes with a little screwdriver, for about a tenner, depending on where you shop. It'll work either as a driverless generic mass storage device in MSC mode, or in MTP mode it'll work as a Plays-for-Sure player with Windows Media Player.

Re: Which soild state MP3 player?
Argos have some good deals on sony stuff atm, and if you dont like the sonicstage software get one of the newer sonys as they are drag and drop.

I know of one budget unit that is drag and drop, but the other ones require software. |

Re: Which soild state MP3 player?
im not sure if its all models, but i think all the newer models do, would be worth a check though!
i went for the nwz-a816 4gb version, great mp3 player, much more better than anything ipod or creative (though not seen the new ones!) |
