Apple support works well
This is a story of my Christmas present a black 80Gb ipod classic.
On Christmas morning I open and connect to my computer it runs itunes I get the usb noise but nothing else happens. I try everything I can find on the web and eventually check system logs to find "this device has a bad block". Its now 10:30 Pm Christmas evening. I request a return to amazon go through their full return process book a dhl collection for the 27/12/07. 2 Hours later I receive an email saying please deal direct with apple. So at 9am 27/12/07 I ring apple to be told that on line support is only for the "elite" iphone uses. I must fill in a returns on line. Having completed the online return everything went smoothly packaging sent to me, ipod returned to them emails to say that yes there was a fault with my ipod and a replacement posted out. Today 3/1/08 I now having a working ipod classic not bad service considering new years day and everything about Christmas. A big thumbs up for apple support and replacement process. The killer was my daughter had a silver ipod classic that worked first time so has enjoyed listening to hers where I can see. |

Nice to hear, I used to work for a company that was a certified apple warranty provider, iPod's came in and went out with a new one next day if it was broken, overnight from Apple

surely if its DOA, amazon had to send you a new one under distance selling, rather than be given a refurb?

I do not mind apple are honoring the rest of the year warranty and the ipod was bought in October as a Christmas present and I was not allowed to open until the day. My wife is verging on OCD and finishes shopping buy October half term always as its my daughters birthday on 24th December as well.
