£150 for a solid all-round sound system/speaker set?
just wondering what people would go for
I was close to buying the Aego M but now that they have gone up to £120, im going to re-evaluate I need speakers or a system of some kind that will handle everything, thats music (from ipod), DVD movies, xbox 360 gaming etc. I dont need a CD player as such and i dont do PC gaming. But i am on a budget. |

Re: £150 for a solid all-round sound system/speaker set?
I picked up a 2nd hand Sony STR-DB940 amp (£90 ebay) which handles everything, and connected up some speakers i had lying around...
not sure if you have any spare speakers to use? i've got some B&O's at the front, and some Pioneer ones at the back.. and I bought a centre speaker off ebay too, 5.1 on the cheap, but much better than a £150 system ![]() |

hah! man, that reminds me, i've got these awesome unused speakers at my sister's house that came with a Sony X-bass system from about 6 years back, i think i will just get an amp then.
What amp do you recommend for powering some pretty large speakers? |

I would buy something second hand from AV forums... you are not going to get a decent new amp for £150

Regardless, you can get something many times better for second hand... The audiophiles over there look after their kit very well so its usually in fantastic condition anyway... are you going for a surround sound amp or stereo? (not sure how many speakers you are talking about)
