    looking for DVD-R's

i was able to download tv shows from a legal known website and wanted to transfer them to a disc. i've been using CD-R's in the past and wanted to use DVD's this time as they store much data. am i right in saying that DVD-R is the equivalent of the CD-R? any sugestions as to what brand or make i need to buy?

Sort of, DVDs can hold more data about 6x more then a cd-r. However you can buy blank DVD-R and DVD+R, both are basically the same thing, but some dvd players can only play one or the other, however nowadays most play both.

I reccommend memorex, verbatim, tdk and sony- only because I have never had any duffs with these makes, but any well known brand should do the job.

Verbatim are my disc of choice. Never had a problem with a single one.

I also recomend SVP: DVD-R & CDR - Blank Media: Reviews and Advice good prices and excellent customer service.

Got to agree with Funkstar with the SVP recommendation.

    Although I use these disc's:

    PiData Ritek Full-Face Printable 16x DVD-R - SVP

Used them for well over 2 years, near enough 1500 of them at work and home and not one has failed on me
