    Wallmounting my monitor

I have a 24" VESA standard monitor, and I've just ordered one of these for it.
My logitech Z4 speakers are on the way which I also plan to wall mount.
Just wondered firstly what the best way of tidying and organising the cables off the monitor and speakers, I was thinking cable clips and maybe shrink wraps or something...
    And general tips?

    Cheers.

    Re: Wallmounting my monitor

I've used a couple of different cable tidy methods in the past. In my bedroom I have a strip of black cable conduit running from the bottom of a monitor to the skirting board. Black doesn't look as tacky as white can, and there is quite a lot of other black items in the room (like the PC and monitor) so it isn't out of place on the mustard walls.

I've also used some cable tidy tubing that i think I found in B&Q. it's split so you can feed cables into it and flexible.

Used that stuff as well, works very well and is reusable.

    Re: Wallmounting my monitor

FFS - my wall arm thing arrived today, got it into the wall fine and everything only to find out the holes in the back of my monitor are just that - HOLES, not screws!

Seems like they just put holes there to let people think it's VESA standard, when in actual fact, it's useless

Should I just something like 'No More Nails' ?

    Re: Wallmounting my monitor

What is the distance between the holes?

VESA specifies several different layouts: 75x75mm, 100x100mm (the most common) and 200x100mm

No no, the holes are in the right place and everything, but the holes themselves will not take screws! edit - they are not threaded

The wall arm plate has the correct placements for 75 and 100 VESA layouts, its the 75 one on this.

Are you sure they aren't just relly deep?

What length of screws are you trying?

No, I can see the green circuit board inside when I shine a light in, the edges of the hole are smooth.

I tried that, there's two screws at the bottom corners of the backplate, I removed them and gave the back of the monitor a good tug, it didn't shift

If I get a strong enough glue, do you think that might work?

    What is the monitor?

Have you tried to contact the manufacturer or retailer?

its the DGM (aka yuraku etc) 24" monitor.

I could try contacting them but it seems a little unlikely that its a manufacturing error.

I just thought... what about selfthreading screws?

have to be VERY careful to not touch any circuitry inside the monitor!
but it would work if you were careful and the plastic's firm enough.

self tappers might work, but there is the danger of shredding that portion of the plastic if you tighten too much.
