Seems we are getting 7 days free play because of the poor beta release. Unexpected, the whole idea of a beta is to find problems, but I'm not going to complain

I always felt in wow that you had to put lots of time in (raiding etc.) to really get anything out of it. How do you all find those type of feelings in war?

Will the not quite so hardcore player still get lots out of it?

I also assume the sides are not going to be balanced (order vs destruction). Do you all think its going to be another alliance vs horde - 3:1 type affair or is it far to early to tell?
Well when joining servers you can see ratio of players on the servers so there is some immediate knowledge of what you are getting into. Even on beta which was seemingly only the individual server for PVP i was getting a game in sub 2minutes.

The other thing that i think is completely true, or will be, is that War is much more friendly to more casual players, the crafting system looks especially designed to make it all lightweight. No grinding for 6 million gold and items to craft that item.

So item upgrades look like they will come from coming top in these open quests and the reputation of the open quests or reputation of the rvr battles (RP)

I'm no were near as much time as i had while i was playing WoW, and think it could be a good balance for me at the moment.

    cheers for the replies.

Looking at the min specs it will not run on my computer So seems it was a moot point.

    The official website says:

"A 128 MB Video Card, with support for Pixel Shader 2.0 " but then below that says the ati x800 is supported. Now I'm using the x800 and it does not do shader 2.0...

It probably goes to show that companies use open beta's to allow people a sneak preview, get their taste buds watering and get them tempted into paying for the game, rather than to find bugs or stress test the server.

Otherwise, why would they offer 7 days free for problematic beta testing?

If cars had followed the same developmental path as computers, a Rolls Royce would cost £60, get a million miles per gallon and explode once a year, killing everyone inside.

They are offering EU open beta 7 days compensation as they totally screwed up the start of the open beta. Its do this or face possible court action as is was advertised that you would get an open beta slot. GOA are a complete bunch of idiots that are trying to keep their customers happy. Same thing happened with WoW launch in europe, we all got free days play because they didn't think so many people would try and create an account on day 1.

I still have the official torrent (that the horrible downloader app uses) which should have been flying pretty much, especially if you're comfortable with the setup of a bittorrent client. Let me know if you want it and I'll upload it somewhere for you.
