Re: Warhammer Online beta
How does it play in general. What are the classes like, hows the questing. Things you like/hate that sort of thing. Any information is going to be good, its just been impossible to find good information as most people seem to have abided by the NDA.

Re: Warhammer Online beta
and with good reason - EA don't tend to play nicely with NDA breakers (indeed a number of people have had their beta access removed due to it).
The game itself plays like... well, it plays like a fantasy MMO with lots of dark and sometimes silly humour. They fixed a number of issues with combat responsiveness (read=melee combat was at times impossible due to response lag) and it now plays pretty damn smoothly. It also scales well, which the missus is pleased about (no need to splash out on an AoC machine to play!) Things I like? Well, again it's the Warhammer universe and I've always been a sucker for the Greenskins. There's no /dance animation (at least for the classes I've played, being as I've been Destruction it's deemed that they just don't dance.), which is good. You don't have the problem with people bouncing around all over the place, which is also nice. Public Quests are a nice touch - you can basically run past and join in, everyone gets a chance at loot but the more you do towards the quest the better the chance of loot. If you get loot you get to choose between a few options, so you're not always stuck with junk to vendor. Things I hate? Well, as always there are a bunch of whiners but that's more about the players than the game. The chat zones aren't currently quite as broad as I'd like, but that's easily changed if they decide to. In all honesty your best bet is to take a look at www.warhammeralliance.com and www.wardb.com - they'll have pretty much all the info you could ever want. WARDB contains spoilers though, so be careful what you search for if you pay them a visit. EDIT - a couple of videos for you too... http://www.warhammeralliance.com/upl...r-1280x800.wmv is (as far as I know: I can't access it from work to see) an actual gameplay video. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AtPWVvVYxl8&fmt=6 is an example video of what happens when you go into a low level PVP zone if you're deemed too high a level. This feature is awesome. |

Re: Warhammer Online beta
Very good video. Not one to dribble at cinematics but its got a nice grittyness to it, sort of thing i do like
Also like the meeting of the Dark Elf & High Elf

Re: Warhammer Online beta
Yeah i did some further reading and it seems to be a random issue. I tried clearing the cache as well and still had no joy. Would only work with IE.
