Re: No Conan Post Since Go Live
Ain't this a conan thread?
![]() I got to about 45 by the end of June. Thought it'd be a nice change from what now has become repetitive in WoW. Unfortunately I just think the game is way to buggy. I also think that melee classes were designed with console users in mind :/ not too mention the whole silly instanced thing which really gets on my nerves when organising parties with randoms for quests or dungeons. The travel system is terrible. To get to someplace like say the Fields of the Dead from Tarantia you goto run for nearly 12 minutes unless you take the quick option and ask someone to kill you or take yourself to the nearest cliff and jump, allowing you to spawn at a closer point near the edge of the zone. I thought this game was meant to be a triumphant epic win and I truly did believe the comments funcom were making about "WoW being mcdonalds and AoC being a nice lean rump steak" but really apart from the sterling graphics and challenging combat system the games nothing different! It's just like LOTRO to be honest but only half of the MMO market can play it (due to it's high spec requirements) and you can have guild cities which don't seem to be that great. I ain't played since reactivating my account cause I just can't find anything to do. I literally have a couple of quests to do and thats it and being a barbarian I can barely take on quests assigned to my level let alone any of the slightly harder quests. The only PvP I've seen so far is the constant griefing which is set to be combatted by a highly oppressive system constructed by people who have obviously never come across the "ganker" before and want the people playing the character flayed. As everyone knows the game is also highly flawed and buggy. But funcom are doing a good job I must say to release patches that are indeed fixing these bugs. Meh, WoW remains the top Fantasy RPG in my opinion even though there's bugger all to do in it at the moment. Perhaps it's time to try EVE again? |

I got LOTRO after trying out a few different games, 30Gb install put me off getting Conan. Pleased with my purchase must admit.

Re: No Conan Post Since Go Live
I don't know HOW it is 30gb to be honest, I suppose all the voice overs in the tutorial take up a big slice but really the world ain't that big.. at all. Only 1 zone to level 50-60 and I think only 1 zone for 60-70 and 70-80.

Re: No Conan Post Since Go Live
I ahev finally cancelled my subscription today. Now I am just waiting for Warhammer online. Might even activate my Wow accoutn for a month or so.
My issue wiht Conan can be summed up by this: My sharacter has looked the same since lvl 10 its just the clothes change to slightly different shade of brown. |

Re: No Conan Post Since Go Live
I'm pleased that I decided to get LOTRO over Conan. A lot of people seemed to have purchased it and have ditched their sub already.
Warhammer looks really good but once again a huge install is putting me off and I am paying a sub for 1 game only! At least there are pretty frequent updates to the content on LOTRO and the first official expansion is well on its way now. |

Re: No Conan Post Since Go Live
THe one thing Conan did for me was make me realise how much better wow is. i`m now back playing wow and loving it again.
The fact that everything was instanced really started to annoy me. |

Re: No Conan Post Since Go Live
You can't believe he got bored of WoW? I got bored of WoW during the trial. I can see it's a great game and there are some fantastic touches, but any amount of grinding is too much for something I'm paying to do. If it wasn't sub-based though I'd be playing it I'm sure.

Re: No Conan Post Since Go Live
There is a trial available for LOTRO Josh if you look on the official site. At least that way you can get a feel for it before buying and making the subscription commitment.
Things are looking better, thanks for asking ![]() http://www.codemasters.com/trylotro/englishuk/index.php Make sure you have the client downloaded and installed before activating the account to get the most time out of it. A lot of people say its a more mature community with fewer youngsters playing, I can honestly agree with that. Higher level players if in your area will help you out if you ask or just join in to save you. I had someone following me about Raith Terraig a few days ago joining in my battles and healing me without me even having to ask for help. It was great that it happened, I really appreciated it. Have a few friends on there now who literally say hi from wherever they are and ask how I'm doing, community spirit is excellent. Will do the same when I get further into the game, it has made me feel really welcome. |

Prove it Josh. |
