I thought I'd make a new thread to chat in about WAR now that it's the first day of the headstart and retail release.

So what servers are people joining and what is your main class going to be? Before I played the beta I had pretty much decided on a Black Orc and that's what I'm sticking with for the retail.

Still not sure on what server to join yet as I have 2 different groups of friends joining 2 different servers So I'm stuck which way to go at the moment. I think I'd rather join an open server though.

I'm probably going to be playing on Karag Orrud the same one as for beta. Same class as well, Dark Elf DoK. But will dabble with other classes to see how they play, as you do

HS code has been validated, bonus items waiting for email but not too worried about them just yet. Now i'm ready for the launch sometime this afternoon

Also had my HS code validated, although I got this message in the same email:

Your CD-Key has been correctly registered. It also gives you access to the following components which have been activated:

Head Start licence
Head Start Collector's Edition period (14/09/2008 to 01/10/2008 included)

Certain components could not be activated because they are incompatible with your account. We would like to advise you that those keys can be used to activate products on another account.

Not sure what that means, I've had no luck finding out yet.

Yea, it has a monthly sub charge.

From launch, subscriptions can be purchased online and within the game:
- 1 month for 12.99€ (£10.31)
- 3 months for 35.97€ (£28.55)
- 6 months for 65.94€ (£52.34)

Alternatively, pre-paid Game Card packs for a 60-day subscription will be available through participating retailers for 29.99€ (£23.81).

The regular edition of the game will be priced at 49.99 € (£39.69) RRP with a 30-day subscription included.

That's taken from the WAR site. Game are doing it for £26.99.

i've only just ordered my copy last night from play, so i doubt i will get my headstart key today. my friends have been playing the beta, but im still unsure what class i am going to play. was thinking about starting a DoK, so thats what i'm going to try first. maybe see you guys in there

This is a confusing and mis-leading message which is not to be taken too seriously. We're looking into this but I wouldn't expect a fix tonight.

Taken from Warhammer Alliance So generally just ignore it for now. I've now got my ingame items validated and that also came with the same message.

The waiting is almost over, the Headstart will soon be here and your adventures can begin in earnest. We will be opening the servers at 15:30 CET this afternoon, all Collector's Edition pre-orders will be able to log in and begin their exploration of the Warhammer world. Battle awaits and adventure beckons!

Queue on KA is 53 at the mo, but it seems to have been adopted as the unofficial Closed Beta testers' server, so I should see some names I recognise. That and there's a few of the CB English Order guilds on there (Mystical Awakening being the biggest) that I'm looking to kick in the nuts.
