No - boycotting NCSoft at the moment due to their lax. attitude towards victims of online crime in their games.

    Phishing for account info.

Stealing virtual items and selling them for real money is big business these days.

    Re: Aion

Ok I played this game for around four months and never in any other MMO I have tried did I feel so bored, the game is nothing more than a very tedious grind with little to no hight points to recomend it.
Couple this with loads of accounts being constantly stolen and NcSofts seeming lack of ability to deal with the issue and the huge number of bots that will constantly spam and farm everywhere I would strongly advise leaving the game well alone given the current state of affairs atm.

    Re: Aion

It's not specificallY Aion, but Guild Wars is also NCsoft property and has suffered from the security flaws present in the PlayNC master account system.

The way NCsoft have tried to handle things pertaining to the security issues have also been quite contemptible.

    Re: Aion

Yeah i played aion it does get a bit too much on the grinding but i just hope with the 2.0 patch all things will improve.

So far i have 5 characters so far, great graphics not a fan of lag though but there has be a recent update where they have merged the servers which is not causing alot of ping issues on ncsofts side.

Most mmorpgs have spam bots trying to steal your account and advertise buying gold ect...ect u really can't avoid it really, the game is ok it's not perfect but aion is a ever steady growing game ad will improve it just takes time that's all

Sure, but how you deal with it speaks volumes. If you suffer an account hack under Blizzard they sort you out, you get all your stuff back and sometimes a little extra. If the same happens with NCSoft you get a note effectively saying 'your fault bud' and lose all your stuff. Then if it happens again or you don't have everything you need to make the account more secure they can delete the account outright.
