    On posting that I think I might build up a hunter class as Balkoths post made me realise what I was missing....

    I think all pets are small...

    You can buy snakes in Orgrimmar, cockroaches in Undercity and I can make mechanical squirrels. Dunno what you can buy in Thunder Bluff. I think the best I've seen was a dragonling, I'll have to ask my mate where he got it from as they look cool! Yet to see a mechanical yeti!

    All these type of pets are non-combat though.

    If cars had followed the same developmental path as computers, a Rolls Royce would cost £60, get a million miles per gallon and explode once a year, killing everyone inside.

    You get the whelpling (little dragon) from searing/scalding whelps which can be found in dustwallow marsh and also the badlands.

    I think the drop rate is pretty dire though hence the high auction price for them

    Had I the heavens' embroidered cloths,
    Enwrought with golden and silver light,
    The blue and the dim and the dark cloths
    Of night and light and the half-light,
    I would spread the cloths under your feet:
    But I, being poor, have only my dreams;
    I have spread my dreams under your feet;
    Tread softly, because you tread on my dreams.

    There are 3 whelps.
    You can get a crimson one from the red/crimson/flamesnorting whelps in wetlands.
    You can get an emerald whelp from the dreaming whelps in swamp of sorrows.
    You can get a black whelp from the searing/scalding whelps in badlands/dustwallow.

    Drop rate is about 1/1000 for all of them.

    Mechanical Yeti is a combat pet, three use only though But excellent while you have him.

    I have a mechanical chicken, non combat, which is rather cool

    Well Hello!

    I had a hawk owl for a while, the flapping noise it makes whilst following you around got on my nerves though. And having to summon it all the time, bleh, impulse purchases.

    I know some people who have mini diablos and zerglings as pets - would love one but they only came with the collectors edition
