I reckon I should now be able to catch these babies.
I've had a hunt in Thottbot and it seems all the areas the fish is available I'm either yet to visit, or have a ridculously low chance of fishing success.

As I'm currently wandering around Hillsbrad Foothills "Steamwheedle Port Fishing" seems to be the closest and most successfull option. Is this a Human or Undead controlled area? I'm not to keen on fishing an area infested with human scum of the same or higher level

Steamweedle port is neutral - it's run by the steemweedle cartel which are the goblins who run booty bay, gadgetzan etc.

Yep, and getting there means running past lvl 40+ creatures. You might be able to get someone to escort you there though.

Yeah Tanaris is a 40-50 zone, not exactly a walk in the park.
