80G mount or 800G ..lets hope not...
Hi,
getting confused witht he chat last night, someone seems to be saving up for an 800G mount but I was told you can get a mount if you're honoured in your home city for 80G? I am honoured in TB so does this mean when I get to lvl 40 along with the 100G of training/plate mail etc that I will also be able to get a mount for 80G? - if only Id stop spending my money on useless things Id be at 80G by now, still lvl 40 is at the end of this week if it all goes to plan

Iirc there are 2 mounts - normal at lvl 40 for 80g (+ training fee) and an epic mount for 800g (not sure if its exactly 800 but sounda about right). Those are supposed to be faster. And u get them at lvl 60 i think.

I can't believe that people can afford epic mounts already! It's crazy! Saying that, I can't believe how many people are level 60 already! What's the secret? Are they all students or something who should be studying?
At the rate I'm going, and probably some others, it'll be a long time before I hit 40 or 60, let alone get a mount. I'm not even gonna mention how long it will be before I get an epic mount. And don't say it's all relative, yes you may earn more money at level 60 etc, but I can guarantee that by the time I'm level 60 everything I can make/find/loot will sell for far less than what it's worth now as it's all new at the moment but will soon be common.
If cars had followed the same developmental path as computers, a Rolls Royce would cost £60, get a million miles per gallon and explode once a year, killing everyone inside.

Bought my epic mount last night. They're real fast.
![]() Borrowed 350g off a guildie to get it - he's going for some whacky faction epic mount so doesn't need the cash for a while.

Following from the previous discussion how to level up fast youre way of playing ie. solo is the most efficient but you have to be disciplined in what you do with your time, i spend only 2 hours a night playing but can level up quickly, a couple of good things to do is
a) 2 gathering skills mining and skinning - you make very very good money from skinning , each kill whilst grinding is also money. If you knwo where the yetis are nr tarren mill go and get them, they are lvl 30/31 , drop money AND you can skin them b) When you get a quest look it up - alkhazam and thottbot have very good info on quests and what to do. c) Group - I always try to group it does help but if u can do it on your own then try as the xp is much higher d) remeber your quests - I find some quests to hard so i delete them but note down where they were and what lvl I needed to be so I can go back and get them later. hope this helps cheers Reg

I know what I need to do, I just can't seem to do it. I find grinding boring after a while and that's why I have so many chars, although only 3 have levels worth mentioning.
I can make a little bit of money from skinning as I send the leather to my leatherworker who then makes stuff, the same goes for tailoring, but mining? Blimey, it's hard to increase past 115! I think I need to mine silver but neither me or Stoo can find it anywhere!! We did take out quite a few Yeti's though, I got so much leather from them! Exp was OK, but that was probably coz I'm rested at the mo. Didn't complete the quest though, how low is the drop for that rod?? ![]() Anyway, I suppose my main problem is that as a guild we don't seem to have any purpose apart from a bunch of people from a forum. I feel though I've become good mates with a couple of people but that's mainly due to TS, it makes it easier to realise that there's other people behind the chars. At the moment we have VERY few chars who play regularly in the 20's and low level 30's which makes grouping for instances damn near impossible. I've been waiting for ages to do Shadowfang Keep but there's never anyone other than me or Stoo on normally. You lot in the 40's and 50's (with one 60, soon to be more no doubt) are fine, you all help each other out a lot more I think. I regularly look in the guild page and see you are all in the same instance, from all sorts of high levels. Just last night I noticed a high level 50 helping out to low level 40's in a SM which I though was a 30-40 level instance? We don't get that sort of help as it's probably "not beneficial to their chars". And another thing that annoys me is that people seem to be talking a lot in guild chat about how much gold they have and what great armor they pickup, rare or epic etc. Yes it's all very good, but to me it feels like you are boasting. I know you probably don't mean it but how do you think we feel when we're struggling to pay for new skills/spells and you're all talking about having 100+ gold, and that's AFTER buying your 90 gold mounts and skills/spells! It's pretty demoralising to say the least. Anyway, rant over. That's mainly the reason why I stepped down as officer coz I could feel myself starting to resent people for being such a high level and having so much money. That's not the kind of officer we needed in this guild. Didn't mean to go on for so long, sorry!

That's pretty much, bar a few other things, what I said to Thor when I pm'd him about my leaving the guild. The biggest problem is that with membership limited to the Forum, there's no new blood coming through so people such as yourself, Allen, don't get to help lower levels come through and the end result, as you have, is a top heavy guild.
I, like yourself, don't have masses of time to invest in the game, so leveling is always going to be quite slow and, as I said when I left, I felt that others were so far ahead of me, the perception I had was that they weren't prepared to give assistance to those lower level characters doing lower level quests, and that I had nothing to really offer the guild . I'm sure there was a post from someone who said they would only quest with people doing the same as quests as them. I think there was about 20 levels betwen us at the time! I wouldn't have seen them alot then. I enjoy the forum, I like the banter, I just didn't think I had a place in the guild. |

It'll never happen that the others would've waited to level up so we didn't have this, what I call, divide between members, so am not really sure how to avoid it. Another quick point I'd like to make is that the high level guys only ever offer items they pick up to other high level chars. Now I don't know as I'm not their level, but are you telling me at lvl 40-50 you only pickup items that are usable by lvl 40-50's? Whenever I see "anyone want this, that or the other" my reply is always the same, it's too high for me. At my level I pickup loads of stuff for low levels but there's no-one to take it at the mo. Also, I see lots of stuff that could help me, or other lower chars, on the AH by guild members. If I have something I really think someone else could put a good use to, I keep it if I can. I AH only what I make in mass to move up the levels in my professions, and those items are readily available, not that many people need them mind! I'll shut up now.

I worry a bit about the lack of lower level guys too as the wife gets her copy this week and will have nobody to quest with if I dont start a new guy
Had I the heavens' embroidered cloths,
Enwrought with golden and silver light, The blue and the dim and the dark cloths Of night and light and the half-light, I would spread the cloths under your feet: But I, being poor, have only my dreams; I have spread my dreams under your feet; Tread softly, because you tread on my dreams. |

You can join me as Rentau and Stoo (Isadrel) when we're off and about questing, we're both near your level.
