HEXUS spoke with NCSoft, who were displaying the Guild Wars game at CTS this month, the game is a standard game purchase price and there are no subscription fees for the use of the software. You are right in the conclusion of expansion packs, this is how the revenue stream for the company will keep the game alive.
The most impressive bit for me was all the expansion packs will able to work together no matter which ones you run. ![]() m@ |

So instead of charging a monthly fee and releasing free patches/upgrades, they're not charging a monthly fee and charging for expansion packs?
Sounds like 6 of one, half a dozen of the other to me. Does look pretty good though, but I'm not leaving WoW.
If cars had followed the same developmental path as computers, a Rolls Royce would cost £60, get a million miles per gallon and explode once a year, killing everyone inside.

The whole game is like one giant 'instance' you go into a town where there are loads of people, get your group together and as soon as your leave the town your group is all alone doing the quests you need to do... wont be stumbling over other random people who have killed the thing your after
