i am not an instance person myself, im my whole rogues armour/weapons and build are PvP based Stam, Agility, Attack power and +crit chance. With duel swords if found it very easy for PvP as sinister strikes are hard hitters no matter what the armour is and for PvP i found it easier then using daggers.

Where daggers are burst damage from ambush and the smaller damage in toe to toe i found that it took a bit to take the mobs down

with swords the DPS is on going, i dont get the 1000 crits at the start but in the 3 seconds of cheap shot I can pull off over 900+ dmg no problems and then carry the same dps whiles toe to toe

Yeah it sucks... only a 25% reduction in attack speed against raid bosses!!!

The rogue at the top of this damage meter is using that sword (damage meter from a Nefarian kill). It's the best one-hander in the game.


One of my guild members has both the bindings and part from ragnaros, just collecting the elementium now, shouldn't be long until we learn how to smelt it either.

yea, using swords on a rogue IMO pulls off a lot more damage in the longer run then the burst damage you get from daggers.

When i went to mauradon (pfft stupid name cant remember it to well) i had the same results but on a bit of a smaller scale only bein a 50ish instance with 2 shamans a warrior and ma priest buddy.

by the end of the instance i was over 100k damage ahead of both the shamans.. slice & dice + blade flurry + adrenaline rush = DPS heaven

I became honored with stormpike guard last night (not an easy feat considering the alliance has /never/ won AV on my server..) but anyway, got to buy the stormpike lvl55 gear

Ok question, Im a 56 Shammy now, and someone mentioned that a dagger + Rockbitter, would give me more DPS then a 1h mace + WF.

Im usually doing stuff solo as my mates are all lame 60's and thus wont come help.

Any thoughts?

not to sure really, im guessin its ganna be either rare or epic, something like 'Gutripper' the epic dagger? i think it was called that anyways.. im a sword rogue, daggers are for clothies

Nah, staves are for clothies. but saying that, weapon type doesn't come into it with a clothie, we're just interested in the stats, and 2H weapons (staves are the only ones we can use) have better stats than a 1H weapon and off-hand item.

not really 100% true id say 70% of warlocks and mages on our server levels 35+ have a main hand weapon and off hand item. SM Lib dagger drop being one of the main reasons and the + spell damage being another (but not to commonly used) and there a couple of nice +int offhands around that level aswell (SM's "in to scarlet mon" giving an offhand stave type item which is quite nice)

I got half my rank towards first sarge, didnt really do to much PvP until tuesday night when we went to AB a couple of times, hit 2.2k total kills last night the 2200 being non other then a level 60 rogue which i solo'd (being level 55 i think it wasnt to bad really )

lvl 51 - 59 should learn to stay out of PVP, it ruins it for us 60's

Yea coz people like me come along with ma healer and kill you all ^ ^ hehe oh how you can see the anger on a 60s face when i kill em hehe cant kill me coz i got a priest ^ ^ cant kill my priest coz of slow poisons and as that rogue found out lastnight, garrott in pvp on rogues = a dead rogue them that is

Iirc there was a time when me and a rogue (50-52 we were) killed a 57 priest. Repeatedly as it turned out (with her killing us a couple times too, but that was partly coz of the mobs). Two against one even if the two are lower level is not that much of an achievement.

remember, a lot of pvp depends on luck as well

also kaine, what if you dont have yur priest with you? youll be rightly boned in WSG then
