Auto Assault - 14 day trial, nothing to lose
This post is, in part, a plea.
I've never really gotten on with an MMO. I find myself very quickly bored by doing the same things over & over. However, every now & again, I need to reassure myself of why it's a bad idea to suscribe to one - by getting onto a trial, and usually getting bored within minutes. I picked Auto Assault as my random game, and shock horror, it's great - the setting is fun to play in, the combat is largely skill-based rather than stat-based, you can dip in & out for brief periods, there are lots of people to run over carmageddon-style, and the multiplayer element allows for integrated voice comms for whenever any other truckers join your convoy. However, as with every MMO, it gets dull if you're by yourself. So, this is a call-out to the HEXUS massive, to download the client from ftp://ftp.autoassault.com/client/ and get a 14-day trial key from https://secure.plaync.com/cgi-bin/fr....pl?partner=10 - and see if, together, we can rule the nuclear wastelands. Or at least enjoy dying trying. The free trial keys are for the US SERVERS ONLY - which means, for one thing, that after your 14 days, your character will be lost (as the retail game will only let you play on the EU servers). I currently have a level 14 Human Commando on the Apocalypse (east coast) server. I'd be hoping to play with other HEXUS people, which means picking the same server. Personally, I'm torn about getting the full game - I'd really like to enjoy playing it fully, but it's a little lonely playing with random idiots, which tends to apply for ANY MMO. There's no obligation if you don't like it, no automatic billing, just 14 days to giv it a whirl - and you really might enjoy it. Gwaaan, you know you want to

I'm dubious as to whether this will be my cup of tea, but I'm grabbing the client now - what's the worst that could happen?
Oh yes, it could eat my life just like WoW... |

I was in the beta for this game, it was a good game but a little too basic in some areas. I may give it a try though

okay, so...
anyone who wants to play, i'll be loitering about in Upside on Apocalypse server at 10PM tonight - anyone who turns up gets entry into the newly founded HEXUS clan, and can roll in a big ol' convoy to blow stuff up, for great justice. Upside is the first proper town you find after the tutorial area - basically, the first time you walk about on foot. |
