I guess they are thinking the more attention off them the better. Though I am guessing when it's nVidia's turn this is going to look pretty funny in retrospect.

It's funny how they are poking fun at Intel and AMD was mentioned as the next likely candidate - NVidia would be out of business without someone making CPUs to work with their GPUs.

Funny fail. Nvidia should have either just stayed schtum and let Intel get clobbered, or welcomed "a diligent and impartial enquiry which can only help the consumer". Cartoons that aren't even funny just make them look silly.

this is why I hate the likes of Apple and Nvidia. Sure intel and microsoft may not be the most moral companies but at least they dont have to belittle other companies to attempt to "get ahead". I find it very sad in fact, i hope intel, amd and Microsoft (Unlikely partnership between intel and amd, I know) team up and take down Nvidia and Apple!

Re: News - NVIDIA puts Intel in the funny papers

TBH the Apple adverts making fun of Windows just make me think less of Apple. The same applies to this - I can't see how it could get them more customers? It would be more understandable if the cartoons were about ATI i.e. a direct rival (yeah I know Intel are developing GPUs but AFAIK they would not rival the high-end GPUs) but making fun of a company which makes a different type of component makes no sense to me - it's like Bridgestone making fun of GM...

Well, it hasn't grown old for me.. yet. For me it's one of those things that's amusing once.. fine twice.. but tiresome the third time.

Intel's decision to limit competition in the motherboard chipset market by violating their crosslicensing agreement is a separate situation than Eidos's decision to only use NVIDIA code for Batman antialiasing rather than write their own for other brands of cards.

    You can't generalize across situations.

I like (in general) - a bit of satire never hurt anyone too much

Although, as someone else pointed out, as far as nvidia is concerned, people in glass houses...

No you can't, they are isolated incidents, and in completely different market segments, but NVIDIA do appear to being hypocritical about anti-trust violations. Especially if you consider the PhysX lock out, which is an anti-trust violation in my books (product tying). Weather or not the Eidos situation is the fault of NVIDIA by buying out Eidos to preventing competitors using AA is another issue, and will only serve to reinforce their hypocricy if proved true.

The other thread is about a multitude of Nvidias questionable business decisions, how about we use their brick walling f the hydra system instead? yeah that one works pretty well. Just add them all up and it creates an image of a company who has no right to question another company on similar infraction imposed upon them.
    Poetic irony in a way.
