Is your Blackberry damaging your thumb?

Blackberrys are a rather popular device at the moment, but regular usage could be damaging to your thumb, so the BBC reports:

"The thing is the thumb is designed flex and rotate in all directions, it works differently from the fingers.

"The joint at the bottom of the thumb allows it to move like this and tapping away could cause it to become sore."

I don't use one anymore, but when I did, it knackered my hands and my RSI got REALLY bad. since then (and several weeks off work) my RSI is much better, but I think that if I were sitll using the blackberry then it would probably be much worse.

I have one but it is not my only email portal so only use it to write messages occasionally (holidays etc). Certainly wouldn't want to use if regularly. Dont send sms messages much either but most epople seem to use their thumbs for that as well so guess the issue would be the same for texting as well.
