HP Launches New AMD Opteron Based Blade Servers & nForce 4 Pro Workstations

Today HP has introduced a broad set of new products making use of the latest technology. Announced at LinuxWorld, the new server and workstation hardware uses NVIDIA graphics and core logic technology along with AMD Opteron processing power.

We took a look at NVIDIA's nForce 4 Professional Launch at the end of January and were impressed with what it had to offer. HP are adopting NF4 Pro in their new high powered workstations. NVIDIA have issued a press release which you can read here.

HP keep on with the NVIDIA technology by also using Quadro SLI in the new workstations:
Customers with intensive computing demands – such as oil and gas exploration, computer-aided engineering (CAE) and 3D animation – can greatly improve productivity with the added processing performance and enhanced visualization capability of the HP xw9300 Workstation.
Moving on to the server market, and HP's new Blade servers will be using AMD's Opteron CPUs.
Powered by one or two Opteron 2.6-gigahertz processors and with an increased memory footprint, the HP ProLiant DL385 offers customers choice for their server needs and meets maximum performance demands for high-volume environments.
Lots of power; just what the doctor ordered. The CPUs used have in fact only just been launched today - models 852 and 252 - and AMD have issued a press release covering their launch here.

Check out HP's full press release, covering the plethora of new products and the specs that come with them, right here.
