Far Cry 64-bit Now Available

Those running 64-bit hardware and Windows XP x64 edition can now run Far Cry in 64-bit loveliness. AMD has issued a press release:

"Gamers who play the 32-bit version of Far Cry will be ecstatic with the 64-bit version of Far Cry because AMD64 technology has transformed the 2004 best seller into an even more adrenaline-charged game," said Marty Seyer, corporate vice president and general manager, AMD Microprocessor Solutions Sector. "Die-hard gamers know the single-core AMD Athlon 64 FX processor delivers the world's best gaming performance."

The press release seems to push single-core processors just as much as it does 64-bit, indicating how keen AMD are to point out that dual-core isn't going to bring extra performance to games (yet).

You can grab the 64-bit Far Cry patch from the AMD Website.

Both Anandtech and AMDZone have taken a look at what 64-bit Far Cry offers.
