Pakistan's Internet Crippled by Power Fault with Undersea Cable

An undersea cable connecting Pakistan with the rest of the world is experiencing power supply issues, resulting in crippled connectivity. Maintenance on the power supply for the cable will require the cable be taken offline for a period of two hours and will affect other countries in the region. Businesses are feeling the strain.

Airlines and credit card companies were among the businesses hit by the crash.

"It's a total disaster," said Nasir Ali, commercial director of the private Air Blue airline. "We have a Web-based booking system which has totally collapsed."

Back up by satellite...im suprised they dont have any over land links tbh. Look on a map...their coast line isnt *that* big...although its probably more politics than any other reason why its undersea.
