Podcasts through iTunes
I'm not trendy enough to be into podcasts, but apparently they're the new way of listening to shows and event coverage... just download an audio file and play it back. Apple's new version of iTunes supports the downloading of podcasts. Bodacious!

lord, someone please destroy the term "podcast". it's possibly the worst word ever created
and someone tell me, how is downloading spoken-word to listen to later in any way interesting, innovative or trendy? |

BECAUSE IT'S AN IPOD GODDAMMIT!
Most people probably didn't know that they could listen to music on the go until the holy iPod arrived on the scene, so if someone tells them it's cool, they lap it up. I quite like This Week in Tech though, even if the guys opinions on certain issues are crap. |

Just found this thread through some searching. I must say I love podcasts.... don't use an iPod though.

The iPod is just the first of an entire range of apple products that don't let you do anything new, but let you do something ...In A Really Cool Way.
iCod: lets you eat fish ...In A Really Cool Way. iGod: lets you listen to the Bible ...InAReallyCoolWay. iHod: lets you carry bricks ...IARCW. iMod: lets you customise your computer ...IARCW. iNod: lets you indicate the affirmative silently ...IARCW. iRod: lets you catch fish ...IARCW. iSod: lets you lay ... grass ...IARCW. iTod: lets you be on your own ...IARCW. And most importantly... iWod: lets you hand over large chunks of money ...IARCW.

Podcasts are a great idea, I don't actually use them as I don't have a portable hard disk player.
But I have a half hour walk to work and rather then listening to music, I could get podcasts from places like www.hackaday.com to listen to.

Right so its an mp3 then.
Because downloading them and putting them onto an mp3 player wasnt cool enough for iGayers they had to invent their own words? Whilst they are creating their own language can they create their own planet so they get off mine and stop annoying me? wow...stressy mini rant...been a long day today...
