While you'd think this is some kind of extremely chilly Internet PSU, you'd be wrong. The product Hardocp are reviewing today is in fact a CPU waterblock with a 437watt TEC. Now, that's some serious cooling, resulting in low (sub ambient) temperatures. Condensation is a problem with a cooling solution like this and it would seem for the Hardocp boys even neoprene wasn't enough.
When the system remained idle, condensation would build up (iced up) on the Arctic Web. Once the system was stressed or put under load, temperatures would rise and the ice would melt, resulting in condensation leaking onto the motherboard. After our first round of tests, the IC7-MAX3 would no longer boot. The board would power up, but the system would not boot.
They found a workaround in the end, however. Check out the
