The best keyboard you've ever laid eyes on
I kid you not with the title. This is a gob-smackingly awesome keyboard developed by Art. Lebedev Studio. Each key of the keyboard is a display which can change to represent the function that the key performs. Yes, that's lots of little screens under your fingers, changing depending on what you're doing.
Here's a picture of this new "Optimus keyboard": ![]() These are the customisable keys to the left of the keyboard, but the entire thing features these tiny displays, meaning the characters can change depending on case, language, or program used. The company behind the Optimus keyboard gives a few examples, including displaying Photoshop shortcuts and Quake key mappings. The company website is being hammered at the time of writing, but I've managed to create a Coral Cache of the page in the hope of speeding up access a little. If I might put forward one final thought: WOW! Comment on the Optimus keyboard in HEXUS.tech-news. Last edited by Steve; 14-07-2005 at 01:45 PM.. |

Been reading up on this.
People have been saying that because small LCDS are relatively cheap to produce, effective off cuts from faulty LCDs. The keyboard shouldn't cost tooo much.

That has to be the coolest gadget of 2005. I can see that within 5 years every program you start has its own set of keyboard functions WITH display, which automatically switch, or something along those lines
![]() That is trully an awsome prospect.
