KeySonic launch their Laser Mouse

Remember when everyone had ball mice, then along came the optical mouse, with that mystical bright LED underneath. Optical mice are the defacto mouse these days for anything other than cheapest of the cheap. However, laser based mice are making an appearance, Logitech being the first with their MX1000. However, KeySonic have just launched two new laser mice, set to take on the laser mice market.

The highly responsive Laser Mouse comes in three models, with 30 times more sensitivity to surface detail than standard LED optical mice and 50% more receptive than the laser mice currently on the market. Taking a total of 6700 frames per second, it converts this information into digital format which enables the mouse’s precise location, speed and direction of travel to be calculated. A leap in mouse technology.

It's soft, it's ergonomic, and it's for southpaws.


Another softskin mouse, this one has a laser and 1600dpi resolution.


Finally, the aluminium version of the laser mouse.

Retail prices are expected to be around the £15 mark, very appealing.

would be good apart from the fact that they appear to have no back/forward buttons, which annoyingly the new logitech g mouse seems to have done away with aswell, essential buttons in my book

who needs em when you've got mouse gestures?

looks nice but the only good thing i can see from this, is that hopefully it'll make logitech drop the price of the waaaaaaaaaay overpriced MX1000.

The middle one of those three mice looks pretty nice actually, i have been using the MS optical blue for the past 4 years, and the 2nd mouse here looks a very simular shape, and at that price and higher DPI i might have try one out, looks kinda small tho. Need to see it in real to see, thanks for the heads up Steve.

Sounds good, I'm left handed at home because of RSI I experience at work. Although in practise I'm L:30% R:70% overall. I've been looking for an upgrade to my home mouse that keeps losing itself on usb on boot up. Now if Scan can get these babies in stock that will be a deal and a half.

Mouse gestures aren't quite as handy in game though

Hmmmm - nice to have a cheap Laser mouse but I don't really think much of the design of this little fella. I don't really see what's wrong with my optical mouse myself, can't see myself upgrading for a while.

Needs more buttons for gaming! However, could be a nice alternative for Autocad types.

woah... we've just got 2 dropped onto our desk now to play with. The soft-skin one feels... well soft and different compared to M1 gaming mouse I use at home 24/7 and the aluminium one is very swish indeed.
