Ahh this is what i wanted to see, well i wouldn't say no to one, but look at the damn price.
definitely making it touchscreen will make it stand out considering the windows 7 is just around the corner too
I think the majority of the price must have gone on that fantastic little screen, the lcd probably cost more than most Netbooks.

£849 to $899 sounds about right![]()
Oh dear. This again? Lets see, higher cost of doing business in the UK, higher VAT in teh UK, does the US price even include sales tax? probably not. so right there it is more like £738 vs $899.
The actual retail price will be lower than this, in the US prices are a lot more tightly controlled by the manufacturer.
Looks like a overgrown Xperia tbh.
They'll sell about 10 of these to people who didn't spot the army of atom netbooks at a fraction of the price I guess..
System 001: Asus Z68 Deluxe, 2600k i7, EK Supreme HF - Full Copper CPU Block, GTX 670 FTW 2GB x 2 SLI, EK 680 GPU Blocks/EK Bridge, 8GIG Corsair Vengence DDR3 RAM CL9 @ 1600mhz, Corsair HX1000, Dell U2412M, Logitech 5.1, Samsung F3 1TB x 2 (RAID 0), Samsung 830 128GB x 2 (RAID 0) SSD (System), Antec 1200 case, Thermochill 120.4 rad, Vario Pump, Windows 7 x64, Cyberpower 1500VA UPS[main]

And then they will sell a load more to people that want something smaller and better made than your average netbook.
Thought an Eee was small? This thing is tiny!!
It might have the spec and performance of a netbook, but it's not much bigger than a pocket organiser.
Reminds me of the Psion series 3.
That picture does make me think a lot better of it. And 600 grams is very impressive also. Nevertheless, I still think Sony have missed the point of a Netbook... however, they might well have created a new type of machine altogether - the "nanobook" maybe?. Like Funkster said, it's more like the Psions of yore.
Regardless, I'd still have someone take a running kick at my nuts rather than pay £700 for one.
I like that, although I would need to try the screen before buying it.
Well I was checking this on Sony Style yesterday, in terms of price - it's on pre-order:-
Starting from
£ 849.00 inc. VAT
(shipping Mid Feb)
That's the lowest 60 GB hard disc model.
I do like it, but I think i'd be more interested in their next iteration.
