That's part of the heatsink, aluminium tends to conduct heat better than plastic.
Yeah, it seems like there have been more articles on the GTX 480 than reviews on the entire 58** range. And we've not even got anything valid and tangible yet.

It's probably not going to be very quiet then but it does have a 250w TDP. Apparently the card will use a few watts under 300w!!
If they have a card to disect why didn't they do some benchmarks

I don't know whether these are credible, but they certainly are comprehensive.
Looks like it's great for some things, and about par with the GTX 295 for other things.
Think I'll be sticking for the time being....unless someone buys my 2 water cooled gtx 295's off me
