The mind boggles. I'd consider going out tomorrow and buying one of these if it were available in the UK. The *one* WP7 handset that I'd actually consider ditching my iPhone for, and Nokisoft aren't interested in my business.

    Insanity.

Indulge my curiosity - what's the deal maker with the 900 that the 800 lacks? I came to the conclusion that it was the larger screen, because I can't see LTE being a big plus, (from what I've seen there's still quite a few areas that have zero 3G coverage, never mind the next generation), and according to the US podcasts I've listened to LTE really drains the battery.

I seriously doubt the front facing camera is 8mp. More like vga front and 8mp rear cameras...

I don't want this phone, but in general I'm getting pretty sick of things that get released elsewhere that don't get released in the UK, particularly after being hyped in the UK. What's that about? Is there some kind of economic barrier I don't understand here? Why tell us about it if you're not going to sell it to us?!

Re: News - Nokia Lumia 900 is hot at CES, UK launch still possible

Is it possible they're considering a different launch name over here? One of the reason picking an HTC phone is utterly confusing is because they release essentially the same hardware with 10 different names depending on the location and day of the week (proud owner of a Desire here).

The obvious point is that it's a 4G phone and we don't have 4G - so it makes no sense releasing it over here.

Besides the big screen, which actually I'm not a fan of, it's just got a front facing camera which I'd never use and potentially a bigger battery (which is a bonus). I'm thinking about upgrading to an 800, but I'm not fussed if the 900 isn't released.

I don't anyone was expecting anything fancy for the front facing camera - after all, it's only used for video calling, so it doesn't need to be multi-megapixels.

That said, a "mere" 8Mpix back camera isn't going to get them much kudos amongst the spec comparer's.

Re: News - Nokia Lumia 900 is hot at CES, UK launch still possible

I love the feel of the 800 too and Windows does seems very slick and nice, but the 3.7" is too small, even more so since I am used to my 4.3" on the Desire HD. If Nokia brought the 900 to the UK, I would get one as my next upgrade.
