I will +1 that - very hard to justify the cost of the newest cards even though they offer blistering performance.

Back in the day paying for the premium card actually seemed to make a difference to graphical fidelity in games... nowadays it just means more FPS without too much discernible difference to quality imo. I could never justify spending more than £200 on a graphics card now, but that may be because I am a student :-P

That is an amazing offer, if I was planning to purchase a graphics card this year I would pounce at this offer. Helps that all the games being offered are high quality and recent.

Re: News - AMD feels the GeForce, cuts Radeon HD 7900 series pricing

"The price cuts don't change our performance evaluation" - well no they wouldn't, but you could have at least altered the prices to make them more accurate now if you're going to link to it.
Kalniel: "Nice review Tarinder - would it be possible to get a picture of the case when the components are installed (with the side off obviously)?"
CAT-THE-FIFTH: "The Antec 300 is a case which has an understated and clean appearance which many people like. Not everyone is into e-peen looking computers which look like a cross between the imagination of a hyperactive 10 year old and a Frog."
TKPeters: "Off to AVForum better Deal - £20+Vat for Free Shipping @ Scan"
for all intents it seems to be the same card minus some gays name on it and a shielded cover ? with OEM added to it - GoNz0.

I think we can thank consoles for this, games used to be designed for PC then ported to Console. Now its designed for Console then ported to PC. This means the engines change less frequently and less harshly as the hardware in consoles remains mostly the same from birth. It seemed in the old days of PC Gaming you had to have a new engine for a sequal which meant a new graphics card. I've had the same graphics card now since MW2 and have not desperately needed to change yet. Glad im waiting for things to settle down with latest cards before I make a move.
Also today we see a lot of spin offs and DLC's so the engine has to remain the same for some time.

Re: News - AMD feels the GeForce, cuts Radeon HD 7900 series pricing

Good times, although for me i couldnt care less about the games and id much rather them knock off an extra £30 with no games... ill choose which games ill buy , would be nice to see the 7950 appearing at £270!.

Still, i will await for it to be cheaper or next year... hmm decisions
