Well, my guess is the GK110. As I remember, the GK104 was their version of entry level while the main force was supposed to arrive around the Ivy Bridge release...
Though I have to say the Crowbar idea is awesome...just have to get it signed by Mr G Freeman now

690 dual GPU - the crowbar is hold up petrol stations and off-licences.
    Society's to blame,
    Or possibly Atari.

The card below the crowbar is a GTX 590, just in case anyone's wondering.

Can't believe there would be that much song & dance for a 690. However, it's unlikely to be tablet or CPU based if they are announcing it at a gaming festival, unless they wanted to take on Ivy Bridge, that would be worth a wooden box.

Is Nvidia working on a new motherboard chipset or have they given up on that?

Wonder if it's anything to do with Project Denver?

But yeah, it's far more likely to be another graphics card. I'm also a bit confused why we've not seen anything below the 680 yet?

Re: News - It's Coming, NVIDIA announcement at 03:30 April 29th

I'd really love to cling to the hope that this will be an accouncement of a GK110-powered card, but I get the horrible feeling that it's going to be a dual GK104-powered card.

Don't get me wrong, the GK104 is a powerful card in its own right, but however you look at it, it was meant to be a high mid-end chip, not the highest-end chip. AMD did a lot of good catching up with Tahiti but I think a lot of people were hoping the performance gains would be more substantial.

I've gotten used to Nvidia taking the top crown and AMD coming a close second but with often much better prices, hence the shader-unlocked 6950 I'm rocking right now, but I'd like to see a really high-end chip from Nvidia soon to give enthusiasts a really high-end single GPU card and push the envelope out more.

Re: News - It's Coming, NVIDIA announcement at 03:30 April 29th

I guess they are hoping to improve the halo effect, they are winning (mostly) the high end but they want to win the dual chip war right now... its very optimistic and will purely be a paper release id expect, stock is low for all 28nm chips and so they will be taking 2 out of circulation all the time... most likely 1000 for the whole world .

Still be interested in how good it will perform and if AMD is only a bit away with their dual chip .
