Ugh, which is worse, Nvidia's or AMD's naming conventions? Only one way to find out... Fight!

Seriously Gfx guys, practise FUD on each other, not ur poor beknighted consumers...

There is one thing being a bit confusing, however having 3 seperate & very different products all under the GT640 name surely boarders on some sort of misreprenting?
Can they not get taken to court by a consumer if the consumer thinks they buy one thing but gets another?

I would imagine it would be similar to car names.
A ford mondeo is a ford mondeo, but there are different levels of spec.

The naming schemes are so confusing so if theres 3 different 640's what about if they produce 3 different 680s or two different one one based on gk104 and the other on gk10

Levels of spec is one thing, but in car terms this is more like a fiesta, focus and mondeo, and calling them all mondeo.

    Customer"Hi I'd like to buy a 640 "
    Shop Keeper"Sure, which one? "
Customer" Well, what have you got?"
Shop Keeper" We have DDR 3 and DDR 5 versions, one of the DDR3 versions uses less electricity"
    Customer" Which one is that?"
Shop Keeper" The one with 384 stream processors instead of 144m, and 32 tex units instead of 24"
Customer" Oh.. so the lower power one is the better one anyway?"
Shop Keeper" Not in Shader CLock or Bandwidth terms no... no way"
Customer" Oh.. so the one that uses more power is the better after all.. makes sense"
Shop Keeper" No.. the one the uses more power AND had DDR5 AND 384 stream processors is the best really....it's a Kepler"
Customer" Cool... I'll have the Kepler one."
Shop Keeper"Which one.. the high power one, or the lower power one "
    Customer" The 640 Kepler"
Shop Keeper" Yes but which 640 Kepler..?"
    Customer" I might keep my 9800 "
Shop Keeper" oh... nice.. Radeon power"
    Customer" no an nVidia"
Shop Keeper"ooh.. they were quite power hungry.. you must hate it for that.. having asked about power use "
Customer" no .. it's the green version... "
Shop Keeper"this sketch is over now "
