    + 1 on this thought.

I hate that my Xbox can stream many TV services , including netflix but I have to subscribe to Xbox live to use a service I already pay for... No thanks Microsoft - I wont be bullied.

I'll look forward to that - IE is pretty "meh" these days, and I don't think I'll be busting a gut to give it a spin. Tried that Bing search a couple of times on my XB and it proved pretty useless.

Chrome on XBox might be good, Firefox less so. Opera's okay, but you can keep Safari.

About bloody time! Been saying this for years but no doubt the bean counters at MS wanted to keep IE off Xbox in order to avoid collapsing already slow Windows "Media Centre Edition" sales. Well now that come with many versions of Win7 let's get it on Xbox! yay!

Re: News - Microsoft bringing fully functional Internet Explorer to Xbox 360

I doubt a virus could run on the 360 at all, it is a pain to try and run any custom code on it even when you have the access with jtag, the hypervisor should keep anything malicious under control.

Its already there mate but no one knows it! Microsoft will need to come up with a paid AV solution to fix it (not for the first time though...)

not sure if your trying to make a joke, but lets be realistic, its an incredibly restricted locked down proprietry platform, as a mactard I thought you'd approve.

(In serious note, win 2k is an order of magnitude better OS than OS9, I mean OS9 was just awful, windows 95, awful, the piss poor security, threading, multitasking, just fractal awful, no matter what level you look at, it was awful).

Perhaps a little late to the party
Understatement of the century...Now the 360 can do what my Original Xbox has been able to do for nearly a decade -- browse the web...it's an embarrassment that they waited this long before doing something about it.

Never stopped people in the past - you can download ROMs for the DS that will brick the console for instance. They were pretty rare, but did exist.
