3x 8-pins? Dear oh dear.

It looks like the card pictured is probably using a pair of Tahiti XT GPUs running at over 1GHZ and is more like a GTX580 MARS card I suspect,and probably is designed to be overclocked a decent amount too. I suspect an official HD7990 will probably have two 8 pin PCI-E power connectors.

It really annoys me when they waste customers' money on little "Devil 13" logos too.
6gB may sway me though. My 3870 X2 lasted well too...
3x8pin connectors is 450W right off the bat, plus an extra 75 (minimum) from the PCIe slot (up to 150W depending on motherboard). So 500W - 600W peak. Sounds hefty, but a pair of overclocked GTX480s would pull that and more and a lot of people went 480 SLI. As CAT says, a reference design would likely be 2x8pin, but that would necessitate a fairly low stock clock to ensure TDP compliance. I'm starting to suspect that AMD have dropped any plans for a reference HD7990, knowing that they simply wouldn't be able to match/beat GTX690, and have instead given partners free reign to rock their own dual-GPU designs. If so, it's not impossible that we'll also see 7870 X2 cards, which would be able to clock much higher with much lower power draw and might actually kick some ass at very reasonable prices...?
The quest for ever more graphical power has been answered by a device that needs more power than ever to produce it!
