Why are US and UK after Iran ? US and UK have their own nukes and they even gave away their nukes to a tiny country like Israel. Are they ONly allowed to have nukes? It's like Goddamn sinners preaching of religion.
It's not as if Iran in threatening the world like N. Korea. Then, why ? Here's why , cos Iran is self-sufficient and not dependent on US donations.
its nothing to do with nukes - its about oil , and the fact they are srsly upset with the events of 1979 when there puppet was thrown out....

I thought it was about Israel and the strength of the Israeli lobby in the US. I would have thought that Israel were the most likely culprits, 6 months programming for no-risk intelligence. Just the sort of strategy that would appeal to a small country.

You're missing the point - Iran would quite like to wipe Isreal off the map (or vanish from the pages of time I think was the phrase used). Any nation with that kind of desire should not be holding nukes (and I include Isreal in that statement - I think they are being held on a leash in some ways, but who would hold Iran's leash?)Originally Posted by OilSheikh

It is rhetoric IMHO as it plays to the sentiment of enough people in the Middle East. The make reason for Iran wanting nuclear weapons is as deterrent to stop anyone invading them,hence keeping the present lot in power. Iran has had a bad experience of this,ie,the Iran-Iraq war which kill hundreds of thousands of people barely 25 years ago,even to the extent of chemical weapons being used on them. Both US and European based companies and organisations helped Iraq with its chemical weapons and biological weapons programmes during this time.
Moreover,as a result of the war the once impressive,Iranian military is being whittled down by age and obsolescence meaning that Israel has a massive technological advantage. It is probably the same reason North Korea also has a nuclear program,ie, to make up for the weakness of their conventional forces. I really doubt,if they had a nuclear weapon they would use as it would be tantamount for them,to have a massive military action against them,leading to the present lot being pushed out of power.

Something the western media dont want to tell you : in the Iran-Iraq war , iraq had full support of the USA, google `hussein rumsfeld` - this was during the time iraq used chemical weapons on iran - and iran didnt reply in kind.
so much of the `news` we hear on iran is pure BS propaganda - my sister took a tour to an ` assassins castle` last year , was fatastic experience , and everyone they met spoke english and was nothing like the news wants to show you.
unlike the air raid on the Osirak reactor - iranian nuclear facilities are opertional and scattered around and also 4 times the distance away.
Israel... hmm... the US and UK invade Palestine and leave them there to form Israel. And, Israelis always say this is our God-given land.
