Re: SCAN slashes price of HyperX 120GB Drive by 45%!

Currently have Steam on a 2tb drive which works well but it would be so nice to have a SSD big enough for my OS / apps and also Steam, I couldnt keep my entire library of games on there, would keep them on the 2tb drive and just have the games I am curretly playing in the steam folder on the SSD.

512gb should be big enough for that

Yikes! Do you play all these games? I use the backup feature to another drive so I only have the games I play installed at any one time, currently at 37.2 GB mainly due to Max Payne 3 (28.5GB!)
My net is so slow it's almost essential if I want to install again to backup anyway.

    cheers

Every now and again, but GTA4, MP3, Witcher 2 and Shogun nearly total in at 90GB alone.

Those are insane amounts of games installed... You only need games installed if you are currently playing them; you guys need to use the backup feature Steam gave you.

I have 900GB's of games installed on my Samsung F3 1TB drive, while 670GB's are from Steam, the rest are from disks or other downloads.

I'm a little worried about since I only have 30GB's left for games on that drive, going have to use one of my other drives soon.

Re: SCAN slashes price of HyperX 120GB Drive by 45%!

I've just recently bought 2 60GB Samsung ultras for 45 each (from scan!), one for a rubbish old laptop that was frustrating, which is now eminently usable again, the other for a shiny home-built NAS/webserver etc. I'm still waiting for the 250GB+ drives to drop to a decent enough level until I upgrade my gaming rig's 80GB Intel SSD (which is a few years old now, and won't fit games as well as apps on...). Very happy with the rate that these prices have been coming down, and this price point is not far off where I would bite for a 250-500GB unit, albeit perhaps from a different manufacturer.

I guess the Thailand floods have had some part to play in the SSD price crash we're now experiencing...

It allows you to purchase a lower capacity SSD to run your OS, programs and games while still having access to your entire game library without downloading new files.
