It's an ok price but I'd rather pay 10 quid more for 8gb more storage and a reliable and faster drive from Samsung or crucial. Think the 120 vs 128 skews the initial price vs space

It's more akin to £20. For a cheap games drive i'm highly tempted as Bf3 is swallowing my M4 atm, although i'm trying to avoid SF at all costs.

    It also looks fantastic!

Love the look of the drive itself, very tempted too as it's performance is pretty good. I'll probably wait until it's really 50p/GB then I'll bite.

Re: SCAN slashes price of HyperX 120GB Drive by 45%!

The other thing putting me off is the apparent crash these are still in. I'd kick myself if a bought one and then come Monday all the other similar drives have dropped by £10's as well.

Re: SCAN slashes price of HyperX 120GB Drive by 45%!

Yeah, the same reason why I've not pulled the trigger on any SSDs. My PC usage has been getting lower and lower so I think I may actually wait for a 256GB SSD to drop to £100 (if that ever happens) and I'll jump on it and use it as my only drive or something like that.

Same here, i could really do with one in my HTPC so will buy one for my main machine and swap the one in there for my old one. The price drops just keep going and i would be kicking myself now if i had bought one about a month ago when they started dropping!

Maybe the etailers need to do some price-fixing to make it appear there is some stability.

Just waiting on an Samsung 830 512GB to become £300~. Then I can finally migrate to the solid side. I presume the next gen will hit the limits of SATA 3?

Indeed, i meant around £10, £12 is nothing when we are talking data reliability and performance of this kingston is on the low side as its meant to be the cheaper end of sandforce. Or you could grab a crucial M4 which is £74.50 .

I held this long before upgraded my space but i really ended up having nout left, if they get cheaper they get cheaper its good in the long run but its cheap enough for me i dont use that much space! My personal opinion is that it wont drop much further maybe like the M4/830 128gb at £130 (instead of £140) because 1. the high end ones cost more to make 2. the big companies are only doing this to weed out the small newcomers 3. they dont want another ram market i.e make nothing when its mainstream!

Sandforce is plagued with errors and bugs so i'll stick with Plextor, Samsung and Crucial
