    Ya gotta give it to them, then know how to act quickly!

    I can only hope that people have wised up a bit these days, common sense is serious lacking and i see this as more of a modern day natural selection!

    Considering the frankly atrocious choice of words (presumably courtesy of Google Translate), you'd have to be a muppet to fall for it.

    Much like most of these things.

    Uhh, how did they get a .gov.uk domain in the first place? More government IT incompetence. They can't even get that right.

    Do you seriously think you need to have a .gov.uk domain to make a fake 'from' field?

    legislation.gov.uk is a valid domain and a good one to spoof. However the email is from no-reply@.legislation.gov.uk...

    I'm sure Boots sell some creme/ointment for the treatment of penal infraction.

    Erm, call me naive but surely the easiest way to deal with this would be to order the ISP hosting the destination email address to close it down? Unless said ISP is in Uzbekistan etc of course. Or, the government could actually do a little advertising that these notices aren't going out this year or next - wouldn't cost 'em much and at least would look like they cared.

    We really need to start requiring DKIM and SPF, rather than just helping it guide spam filtering.
    PHP Code:
    $s = new signature();
    $s->sarcasm()->intellect()->font('Courier New')->display();

    HMRC and other government departments are always making spelling and poor grammer mistakes on letters, leaflets and web sites.

    True, but there's a big difference between a few spurious apostrophes and "What we do reproach you?". I can't even guess what that started out as!
    "I want to be young and wild, then I want to be middle aged and rich, then I want to be old and annoy people by pretending I'm deaf..."
