It's not dead, merely sleeping (and not in the "pining for the fjords" beloved of Monty Python fans), remember:
Unsurprisingly, the European Commission still seems hell-bent on implementing some form of rash legislation and, is now waiting on the legal opinion of the European Court of Justice to see just how much of ACTA it could have gotten away with.
In other words, despite what us Europeans obviously think (expressed via our MEPs) the Commission still want to bend over backwards to help big business, and privacy be damned! Axxholes!

The EU commissioner has made his stance very clear.

The EC should be dissolved, such a contemptible organisation has few rivals in its far reaching undemocratic unaccountable powers.

There'll be a revolt if this overwhelming decision is not respected. Hopefully that's what'll happen and we'll see the EU Commission ripped apart!

WTF, so its been voted against but there going to do it anyhow?, Democracy is dead, whats the point in voting in people for there decisions to be dismissed, Its like were just cattle to buy there latest product, we clearly don't know best so lets just ignore the people.

Such a shame the population is such a bunch of lazy uninterested sheep these days oblivious to what is going on around them and just happy to do there mundane job and watch there soaps / reality shows and eventually just fade away to nothing.

Nigel Farage tweeted this earlier, I might just email him and give him some backing to speak out on this.

Urm, in which case why the fu ... furk is he still in his job. He's only a bl**dy (un)civil servant - there to serve, and at the behest, of the EU Parli. Time for some "downsizing" I think - and they can start with his salary, expenses and pension!

Two words ... "UK Government". At least the EU (as opposed to the fat cats in the Commision - which is basically "jobs for the boys" - the more incompetent @home, the better the job you get) does SOME good for us plebs - remember the laws on social policy, working time directive, etc. Those ones that that ass Cameron and his rich lickspittle cronies want to rollback.

But I'll save you from the tirade that I unloaded recently on the brainless (and chinless) UKIP ponce who stopped me in the street and didn't take "no thanks, I'm not interested" as a hint what he could do with his leaflet.

We're not all "uninterested sheep" - judging by the organised "No to ACTA" campaign there were certainly some who didn't want to buy into the "bread and circuses" mentality.

What worries me about gov.uk is that they seem to be trying to destroy that kind of "get involved" mentality, unless it's going to save them some money by generating some nice cheap/free labour - this "Big Society" nonsense.

Apologies all for the political rant.

So 39 of 478 are teh best friends with corporations...I suppose it could have been even worse.

(influenced by large media corporations who have shown time and time again, that the general public is the last thing on their minds)...Agreed
