Yup. John Carmack also said he wasn't interested in anything Windows 8 offers.

I have never disagreed with a single thing Valve have done in the past... So I can't see me started now

Not to beat a dead horse, but http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=REC4xwpX26g#t=12m29s provides some detailed insight into Valve's statements, which most of the commenters here are missing.

Not sure if I got too much "detailed insight" from that but I don't disagree with a much of it either. Valve is interested in Valve, MS is interested in MS yadda yadda. If nothing else I'm happy to see them push linux for gaming - perhaps one day it could transform into some traction for it (because pretty much nothing else seems to have worked for the past decade) and provide some good competition for MS on the desktop. I don't really agree that MS is pushing tablets as replacements - their strategy seems to be more about integration between devices (and i'm sure they'd like to monetise you for more than just one device) with 8 (phone/tablet/pc).

That was very informative! Thank you very much. Might be using this in the future to explain what all the fuss is about.
