Any chance of a proper comparison review between the new Kindle Fire's and the Nexus 7? I'm after one of them, but undecided which.

Ditto (though also hanging on to see if any of the Win8 tablets were any good, otherwise I'd have gone with the Nexus already).

Like Tpyo I can wait for windows 8 before making a decision but the pricing on the Kindle Fire HD looks pretty competitive and I would definately pay the extra for ad-less mode. On first look I would say the Nexus has the edge on styling and OS but Kindle Fire has a definate ecosystem advantage, better storage (still a shame about no SD slot) HDMI out - they also share a lot in common. I would say it's going to be very strong competition for Nexus 7 and the yet to be seen ipod large/pad mini hybrid, which doesn't appear to be bring anything unique to the table from its predecessors.

Well what makes the nexus 7 more appealing IMO is the fact that it's a nice clean version of ics , unlike the kindle which runs amazons Heavilily modified version of android. Oh and the CPU is faster but that's not significant considering that most android apps will not need a quadcore.
